Q3
What is Rightsizing?
💬Answer
Rightsizing is the process of matching instance sizes and types to your actual workload performance requirements. SREs look at historical CPU, memory, network, and disk metrics over a 30-day period. If an instance averages < 10% CPU usage, it is a candidate to be downsized to a smaller, cheaper instance type within the same family (e.g., downsizing from an m5.xlarge to an m5.large).
